|IKUE MORI was born in Tokyo, and moved to New
York in 1977 where, as the drummer fo the influential No Wave band DNA,
she created a radical style of rhythm and noise. By 1983 she was active
in the downtown improvising scene, collaborating regularly with John Zorn,
Tom Cora, Wayne Horvitz, and Fred Frith, among many others. In 1985 she
began using drum machines as her primary instruments, and currently she
uses three machines simultaneously in her highly personal language. Among
her many recordings are two recent solo CD releases on the Tzadik label.
